THIS.
Critics are judging Princess Merida because she is the first princess to not fall in love. Critics are calling her a lesbian because she does not want to be married. This is just to show everyone Merida’s message that the point of her movie was that she is strong and independent. That’s it.
Right, so let’s get this straight.
- If a young girl doesn’t want to get married it means she’s a lesbian.
- If a princess doesn’t have a prince or other protective male as a love interest, it means she’s a lesbian.
- If a princess hasn’t found true love during the time span of the movie, it means the filmmakers intend for her to be alone forever. Also it means she’s a lesbian.
- If a girl can have adventures, shoot arrows and ride horses without the intervention of a male, it means she’s a lesbian.
- Being a lesbian is really bad. Film heroines should never be lesbians.
Oh dear lord the world sometimes, I just can’t.
